::: ViceVersa Biography ::: When asked what sets ViceVersa apart from the masses of up and coming artists, the duo replied in unison "Adaptability". This is apparent on their first CD, entitled "The Experiment", which explores a wide range of musical styles. The brothers, Takangaroa 'Majesty' Davison (born 22 May 1986) and Tawhai 'Spyre' Davison (born 4 April 1990) were writing music individually for over 10 years but, until recently, thought their styles were too different to work together. However, their debut as a duo in late 2009, live at The Townhouse in Taupo, NZ, "totally went off". "How is it that you guys are not signed? I cant believe youre not on the radio" was the immediate response from resident DJ Syllable after they rocked the house and left the crowd asking for more. Just Do It along with Pop That and Don't Stop Movin' are now on the clubs Playlist. ViceVersa grew up in a musical household in a small town in New Zealand. A town where the most probable future for indigenous youth was to lead a life of crime and eventually end up in prison. The effect this had on their closest friends plays a big part in the direction of ViceVersas music. Blah Blah, for instance, is a musical account about betrayal, untrustworthy friends and how they try to bring you down. Although their music is primarily based on hiphop/rap it is obvious that they aren't afraid to dabble in different genres. Ranging from the RNB slow jamBedroom Eyes, and the smooth Take U With Me these guys have mixed their chemistry just so right. The feel-good Just Do It, a pop/hiphop fusion that when you hear it you can't help but turn the volume up and nod your head to the catchy beat. Not afraid to take a risk, they have the edgy, rock inspiredAddicted that points towards an emotional roller coaster ride suggestive of music as a drug, following the highs and lows of rhythm that the listener can feel pulsing through. When discussing their future plans, Spyre was quick to point out that the ultimate goal was to become a household name and to "show that it doesn't matter where you come from if you have a passion for something and you work hard enough at it, you can make it". Majesty adds "So far we've been lucky enough to find that what we enjoy is the same kind of music that our fans do". But right now, they know its about getting the music out there on a bigger scale and not let any opportunity pass by.
