VRIL formed in 2004 by a bunch of kids who grew up together listening to metal somewhere up there in New England. What was at first just sort of an experiment, "Locked" was born, though at the time we were just trying to figure out the art of it all. Over the years, there have been lineup changes (save for the core, current 5 members), name changes, instrument switches and a drastic change in over all sound. Spawning forth from the smoldering ashes of Locked awakened VRIL, virtually a completely new project. VRIL has been casually playing gigs and recording material over the past few years, choosing instead to refine the band's musical structure and sharpen the "Riot Metal" entity. As of winter 2008, VRIL has finished recording their second studio demo thanks to Project 2 Studios. "The demo" is free of charge, so as to be heard by the metal masses.
