West & Run

With a pop/rock scene littered with the detritus of ‘will she/won’t she’ love anthems and tired ruminations on homesickness, there’s a certain freshness to be found in West & Run’s debut effort, Ms. Direction. Not that you won’t find those themes in their songs, but this Michigan foursome is less concerned with the definitive and more interested in the genuine emotion found between looking back and peering ahead. This is music of transition. This is music of those echoes from the waystations between youthful exuberance and the uncertainty of tomorrow; between heartache and heartbreak; between making it and having lost it all.
