Whats Real formed in the spring of 2007, after a few recording sessions they realized they had talent.Blue had been writing music since the age of eleven,originaly composing rap lyrics, but due to the watering down of the hip hop industry, he soon moved on to punk rock.He played with a few bands and because they lacked a singer he would freestyle lyrics over the mucic at there shows. Whats Real formed in the spring of 2007, after a few recording sessions they realized they had talent.Blue had been writing music since the age of eleven,originaly composing rap lyrics, but due to the watering down of the hip hop industry, he soon moved on to punk rock.He played with a few bands and because they lacked a singer he would freestyle lyrics over the mucic at there shows. Pretty soon he was freestyling with other friends on the weekend and in his free time.After a run in with the law at age seventeen,Blue began writing heavily.After being released from his first label Hoodsta Records Blue decided to produce his own music.He encouraged his brother in law JL to purchase a drum machine and start making beats.Which he did.After accquiring some low grade recording equipment Blue and JL began to record.Blue and Phax where introduced when Phax was hired at a restaraunt Blue was managing.Phax had just moved to Oklahoma City from Memphis.The first session came shortly after and Im Alive was recorded. Following a few more late nights in the studio they decided to put a demo together which later was transformed into True Stories vol. 1.The name Whats Real fit because they were dedicated to speaking the truth, and they have been doing just that ever since.
