When the Fight Started are a 4 piece alternative band from Salt Lake City, who keep shades of funk, soul, blues, and rock as part of their ever growing repertoire, and elicit comparisons to Red Hot Chili Peppers, Incubus, The Black Keys and Foo Fighters.
Forming in March 2009, they spent their first year and a half playing around Salt Lake at venues such as In the Venue, Liquid Joes, Burt's Tiki Lounge, and at events like the Riverton Arts Festival, and the Furry Friends Festival put on by the Utah Arts Alliance. In a relatively short amount of time, WTFS has been able to garner a loyal following that keeps growing with every show they play.
Taking some time off late last year and early this year to record and regroup, When the Fight Started came back strong with the release of their 7 song E.P, When Bodies Fail on March 18th. Just weeks later, the band competed and went on to win the Cinco de X Battle of the Bands put on by local radio station, X96. This earned the band the opportunity to open the Cinco de X Festival on May 5th, where they shared the stage with Flogging Molly and Hollywood Undead. This gave the band a chance to perform in front of their largest audience to date.
When the Fight Started are currently writing, recording, and performing new material and working to expand their touring horizons outside their home state. The band are also pushing themselves to toward releasing their first full-length album in summer 2011.
