About Wolf Rage
Baldwin Park, CA
Wolf Rage is an alternative/punk/indie band from Los Angeles, CA. With influences such as Misfits, Alkaline Trio, Joy Division, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Horror Punk bands, Wolf Rage brings alternative/punk roots with a bit of indie and horror to create dark, art-punk music and a stage image based on werewolves and lycanthropy.
The band released their first single "3 A.M." from their debut E.P. "Darkest Hours" on February 14, 2011. The four track E.P. was recorded in Rancho Cucamonga, CA and produced by Rich Bruce of Vivid Tone Recording. "Darkest Hours" is a powerful recording that combines the emotions of melancholy, aggression, strength, and control to depict the struggles of facing difficulties and changes in life through the metaphor of using werewolves as a message for "losing control." "3 A.M." starts off "Darkest Hours" with a very ear-catching intro and power driven sound all throughout followed by "Burning Rain." This is the slowest song on the E.P., bringing a sensitive side out, but at the same time it offers a very dark and obscure background. The third track is the fast paced "Dark Journey" which kicks up the music again with a harmonical chorus and a very dynamic sound. The E.P. then closes with "When The Lights Go Out," a heavier alternative musical arrangement with a theme of frustration and rage.
