Woodside Station is made up of accomplished guitarist, vocalist and songwriter John Alberici and singer/songwriter Morgen La Civita  Their band name is a reflection of their city upbringings, and their music style stays true to those roots. With an earthy blend of their blues, folk and soul backgrounds, Woodside Station emerges a breath of fresh air on the acoustic scene. Introspective lyrics, tight harmonies, funky grooves and a wicked sense of humor make Woodside Station the “must see” live act to catch. A little about John and Morgen: John's eclectic style walks that dangerous line between genres, so lightly tread upon by many singer/songwriter's. There's endearing folk in there as well as deep soul, unabashed pop and twisting jazz. What bubbles up from this mix is honest music that respects what you've heard on the radio and strives to feed your ears something different. In John's music you can hear the influences of greats that have inspired him like, Victor Wooten, Jaco Pastorius, Phil Keaggy, Ty Tabor (of Kings X), early Harry Connick Jr and the "Kansas City" soundtrack. In addition to a long list of impressive original works, John's ability to make classics sound like his own have created a buzz for him all along the New Jersey music scene as well. John's played prominent shows at The Saint, The Bitter End and The Cape May Music Festival to name just a few. Morgen had already made her mark in the world of radio and television voice overs, as well as commercial copy writing, when she made the transition to songwriting. In less then two years, she has been featured on 20 albums, has had several songs licensed by various music publishers and has received radio airplay on major market stations, including WWOZ in New Orleans, Jazz88 in San Francisco and NBC's "Good Morning New Orleans". She has been named one of the Top 5 Vocalists of the month for Singer Universe 5 times and has been on their Top 5 Songwriter's list for Songwriter Universe twice. Her haunting vocals, dramatic lyrics and fusion of soul, blues and world genres, tell the musical equivalent of campfire ghost stories and give her an edgy and unique sound.
