Tsuyoshi Curtis AKA Yosh grew up as a military kid and has moved around from city to city all his life. He was born in Tokyo, Japan to his Japanese mother Sumiko Nakanishi and his African American father Ronnie Curtis. He spent six years in Japan and still goes back to visit his family. His parents split up when he was eight so he was raised mostly by his father and step mother. He grew up listening to the likes of WAR, the temptations, Carlos Santana, Boyz 2 Men, BBD, Bobby Brown, Az yet, and Bob Marley, just to name a few, as a result of his father's varied taste in music. With this wide variety of music he learned to appreciate all different genres of music, even taking a liking to rock while in high school. Constantly writing songs and even poetry, he felt he needed a way to express himself. He began to pursue his musical interests in high school when he started doing talent shows and step shows. With the taste of performing under his belt he became attracted to the lime light and wanted to pursue a career of rapping. At the age of 19 is when he first began to record. With little over a year of trying to record, he has come a long way from his ruff beginnings by improving his delivery and song writing skill. "I'm just getting started in this whole rap thing. Ima just try to improve in all my music. I'm taking a recording class right now, so I'm tryna learn all the ins and outs. I want to write, sing, rap, produce, and make beats, so ima just keep practicing and hopefully one day my shit will be hot," States the young artist. He knows he has a long way to go and continues to stay humble and is hopeful he gets the opportunity to shine.
