About YoungBlaze_OfChiTown

Chicago, IL

Young Blaze was born June 12, 1985 on the South Side Of Chicago. As a child, Blaze was surrounded with music hearing the rhythms of his father's saxophone combined with his mother's voice as lead singer for a local band. As he grew up, Blaze took an interest in music, listening to rap acts like Bone Thugs "N" Harmony, 2pac and Notorious B.I.G. It took a hit song by Jay Z entitled "Money Cash H*e's" for Blaze to eventually take a deeper interest in rap music. When Blaze went to the Jay Z Hard Knock Life concert with some of his friends, he was overwhelmed with the crowd's reaction. While everyone around him bounced with the music, Blaze found himself standing there thinking "Wow, look at the hype reaction the crowd gives Jay Z for every song!" instantly Blaze thought "He can do this!" and decided to pursue a music career. From then on it seemed Blaze's real talent in life was music, but as time progressed coming up on the south side of chicago which is considered the more rougher side of Chicago, Blaze found himself off track, wrapped up in peer pressure, violence and other misleading activites. Attracted to the idea of fast cash he found himself caught up in hustling and hanging out with what he calls "the wrong crowd". It wasn't until he sat down for a long talk with one of his mothers' friends from church, who also recognzied that Blaze was extremely talented who then talked to him about the right choices to make and the wrong choices to make. Blaze realized he was quickly headed down the wrong path. In late 2003, Blaze hooked up with a local manager who seemed to be interested in what he was doing at the time, but the relationship didn't last long. Blaze started booking his own shows at clubs like The House Of Blues, Mrs. Camils, Pandamonium, and the Red Light. Later Blaze taught himself to write, produce, mix and master his own materials and decided to enroll himself into StudioChicago Schooling MIW(Music IndustryWorkshop) which is a school for the arts and a brother school to Columbia College for more Guidance, and Trained under famous Engineer Chuck Kuwal who mixed on R Kelly's and Prince's records and many more famous recording artist. Not only does Youngblaze mix, produces, and writes his own songs , he has also done work for other artist as well. He has written R&B, he has done Ghost Production for Chicago's Artist Twista, and others's, he's done some remix work for Ciara's 1.2. step, Gwen Stephani's Holla Back Girl, and Next Selection recording artist Cassie which also got him to feature on The Infamous Tapemasters Inc. Mixtape Circuit as well. In Late 2005 youngblaze decided to put out merchandise on his popular website www.youngblazesite.com selling everything from T-shirts, bookbags, plush teddybears and womens apperal, and has sold over 500 items without being an established artist and creating his own fanbase, also putting out a mixtape via internet and being his own distributor and hand pressing them up himself, he sold from 1000 to 1500 mixtapes in 2 weeks. He is currently becoming a Internet as well as a music Phenomenom by reaching a status other artist cant acheive independently , he's opened up for Kanye West's group Sahra, and mostly headlines in current venues, his Biggest show to date was the offer to perform in the middle east in a place Called Bahrain which is really familar with his music and has established a huge fanbase, not only there but internationally as well in places such as London & Tokyo. Young Blaze is different from most rappers out there today in that he tends to think outside the box. Rappers today think one dimensional, meaning if a rapper displays himself as a thug most of the time he is viewed as a thug 24/7. Blaze feels that there are times when a listener wants to see different sides of you, hear your different views, and how you might handle a situation concerning other life issues? He thinks it's cool to rap and tell people you're a "thug", a "pimp" or a "gangsta", but that's not how you would feel on an everyday basis. Blaze looks at his music as his way of showing people different types of feelings from time to time... music that can be heard and related to all kinds of issues and in all sorts of situations. Bottom line when you think about it, Blaze's music is kind of the "Soundtrack of Life!"
