Your Arsenal is Chris Wallace, Shaun Hale, Chad Sengstock and Justin Thiessen. The band was born when Hale and Wallace began writing songs in Chris' garage studio at his home in Glendora, CA. During the winter of 2009, lured by their synergistic creativity, long time friend and former singer of The CIG and Faith Snakes’ guitarist, Chad Sengstock joined on bass. These three old friends have crafted a sound that embodies their appreciation for both old punk standards and new trends in the music world, looking to bands like Green Day, The Clash, Against Me!, and Gaslight Anthem for inspiration. With the addition of Drummer Justin Thiessen, Hale's former band mate from Torn in Two, their style has taken on a strong, rhythm-driven quasi-pop punk tone. Their playful yet poignant lyrics and stage demeanor has been described as, "tight, energetic, and the best surprise musically that I’ve come across in years" –StrangeReaction.com Most recently, YA have been playing in both Los Angeles and Orange County circuits, at such venues as the Troubadour, Linda's Doll Hut and their home stage, the Slidebar. They can be seen there on any given weekend, sometime more than once a week. They have shared the stage with the likes of The Briggs, Scarlet Grey, Flatfoot 56, Longway, Cobra Skulls, the Sparring, and Fiction Reform. What makes YA so unique is their sincerity. Life happens, but rather than resign to the typical FTW song that typifies the punk genre, Wallace turns inward and brings his pain to the forefront of his consciousness. These boys know what their audience needs--a voice-- and they strive to give their generation just that. They sing of the horrors of war, feckless government policies and the general world-weariness emblematic of these trying times. Your Arsenal is anthemic of a generation fed-up with apathy and corruption, and their simple sing-along choruses and gang vocals contribute to the sense that these sentiments resound. Their new EP is, in fact, a collaborative effort amongst friends and musicians, including vocals from Ben Grey (Scarlet Grey) on "Change?" and stylistic vision from Alex Estrada at Earth Capitol Studios where they recorded. Look for a 2011 release of the EP entitled “Cowards, Liars, Beggars, Thieves” as well as shows up and down the West Coast and more.
