I grew up as a jazz bassist, performing with the Foxborough High School Jazz Ensemble in Foxborough, MA. I also studied orchestral music there and led various jazz combos through my high school years. Afterwards I gigged around Boston, MA for a little bit and was accepted to New England Conservatory of Music for Jazz Performance on String Bass but decided to pursue other genres and outlets (and have an adverse reaction to organized study). While in San Francisco early 2000 I started composing more music for acoustic guitar and vocals and have since performed a bit at open mics but have primarily focused on composing and recording at home. In the meantime, over the past ten years I've played bass, drums and guitar in various bands jumping from genre to genre. The most exciting to me were the punk bands and the noise/improv collectives. Today I'm continuing to record music and produce electronic stuff, incorporating friends and their talents into the mix, but my heart is in my solo project. For now I'm a man and a guitar, but every time I get a drummer to play with me I really enjoy rocking out. My biggest influences have been post-punk and alternatives from the 90s like Shift (NYC defunct), Don Cabellero, John Coltrane, Dave Brubeck, Ornette Coleman, Steve Coleman, Tool, Tori Amos, Ani DiFranco, Elliot Smith, Nine Inch Nails, Bjork, Tortoise, Solex, and Sleater-Kinney off the top of my head. Part of me would like to make it big (I can dream :P ), but I'm finding I'm just as happy continuing on the creative path I've found regardless of where I end up with my music. I think that I make music for myself more than I do for anyone else.
