This song was written as a "hope" (so to speak) that the wars going on overseas and everywhere else in the world would cease. It is very emotionally driven, with an adrenaline pumping rythym. The meaning behind it is simply a plea through music to come to some sort of peace in the world. In high regards to our troops, we feel they need to come home, so mostly, this song was written for them. We have too many people dying for no purpose, and not enough people living to create new purpose..
