Dark As Day

Inspired by a generation of Indie music from Joy Division to The Bravery, Dark as Day has emerged as a melancholy creation of their Indie ancestors. The lead singer, Maestro, has played in dozens of bands in Europe for the last 8 years, both fronting, playing bass/guitar and even drums. Inspired by a generation of Indie music from Joy Division to The Bravery, Dark as Day has emerged as a melancholy creation of their Indie ancestors. The lead singer, Maestro, has played in dozens of bands in Europe for the last 8 years, both fronting, playing bass/guitar and even drums. An accomplished musician, he brings haunting, Peter Murphy inspired vocals, synth, and bass a long with strong musical roots to the band. The guitar player, DARX, is a veteran of the San Diego music scene, having played in a number of small bands over the last decade. Highly influenced by Joy Division, Pink Floyd and the Pixies, he's in his element composing new songs and levitating on his Gibson. The drum player, Nihls, has years of experience playing with various outfits in San Diego. While Nihls musical foundations are with Alt. Country legends such as Gram Parsons, he has been equally inspired by Ian Curtis and the early, Alternative music scene. Dark as Day completed their first demo at WhiteHorse studios in San Diego, CA in Decembe 2010. They've most recently been invited to play various clubs at SXSW in March 2011.
