Description
Written from the perspective of an old growth Sequoia. In the beginning of human civilization, extraction of resources was seen as an experiment. There was a control group left untouched. After time, industrial development became too much fun, and humans began extracting from the control group as well.
Lyrics
I've been standing here For over a thousand years I've seen the sun come and go She just smiles and waves... But, I haven't a clue what she's waiting for. All my friends have moved on Sailed with the current of change Or left their mouths open as it washed over them. Progress has no use for me It has left me alone in the middle of a defeated landscape. Meditating patiently. Just as the sun, I too will wait alone.
