Description
Careless Love was Lonnie Johnson's signature song in the early part of the 20th century. My version is nothing like his, but it's a tune I first tried to play back in the 50s and finally got (I think) just a few years ago.
Lyrics
Love, oh Love, oh Careless Love, Love, oh Love, oh Careless Love, Love, oh Love, oh Careless Love, Don’t you see what you have done to me? You caused me to weep, you caused me to moan. You caused me to weep, you caused me to moan, You caused me to weep, you caused me to moan, You caused me to lose my happy home. I cried last night and the night before, I cried last night and the night before, I cried last night and I cried the night before, I’ll cry tonight, and then I’ll cry no more. You asked for my heart, but I gave you more, You asked for my heart, but I gave you more, You asked for my heart, but I gave you more, You asked for my heart, but you took my soul.
