Description
The Saturday & Sunday Blues” was written out of the anguish one feels when he believes he has lost everything. And that's exactly how teenager James Rogers felt when he found his girlfriend Marie in the arms of another. This disheartening turn of events followed close on the heels of learning his father Red was in a Nashville jail, the building Jimmy worked in had burned to the ground and his two closest friends, David and Cathy had died mysteriously from ingesting anti-freeze.
Lyrics
You've got everything to loose, when you get the Saturday and Sunday blues. I said, you've got everything to loose, when you get the Saturday and Sunday blues. If hard luck and troubles hit you on Friday, you got the Saturday and Sunday blues. Friday morning I got up, why not I had nothin' to loose. I went to have some coffee, it had all been used. So I went to take a shower, only cold water came through. I'm afraid to start my car, I’ve got the Saturday and Sunday blues. By the time I got to work, my job was nowhere to be found, the building I worked in had burned to the ground. You've got everything to loose, when you get the Saturday and Sunday blues. So I decided to go back home, found my woman with another man. Let me tell you people they weren’t just holding hands. You got everything to loose, when you've got the Saturday and Sunday blues, Saturday and Sunday blues. You'll know you've lost it all, when you get the Saturday and Sunday blues. I said when you've lost everything there is to loose, you've got the Saturday and Sunday blues.
