The Rhythm Kings are under the musical direction of McRecord's recording artist singer, songwriter and guitarist extraordinaire JIMMY MACK. The band’s album “Can’t Stop It! – Vol I” features twelve original songs that punctuate the events that take place in teenager Jimmy Rogers' battle to break from his father's belief "life is a cruel joke barely worth living." If Jimmy loses this battle he will take his own life and the mystery surrounding the deaths of his two close friends, David and David’s girlfriend Cathy will go unsolved. Jimmy's Father Red Rogers has held a very bleak outlook on life ever since his sixteenth birthday when he and his friend Harry skipped school to be with the Thompson sisters. Red's Father Harold Rogers went to the high school to give Red the good news that Red had been accepted into Annapolis Naval Academy. When Harold went searching for his truant son Harold was in an automobile accident that killed him. As Red saw the accident, he bolted toward the colliding cars. There on the road, in a pool of blood, was Red's father Harold Rogers. Red knelt down as his father said: "There you are son". Then Harold Rogers, age thirty-seven died. Stricken with grief, Red's aunt Freda screamed "You killed him, you killed my brother". What kind of father would you be if you were blamed for the death of your own father? When a tragic event of these proportions happens in life we either turn closer to God or go further away, nothing stays the same. Red rejected the very existence of God thinking to himself: "If there is a God why would he let this happen, and if he did then I don't want anything to do with him." Red turns to alcohol to drown out the memory of his Father's untimely death and his Aunt Freda's condemnation continually echoing in his head. Despite Red's cynical outlook on life, he honestly loves his wife Esther and their eight children. The problem is: in his heart Red truly believes it is his solemn duty to make his children understand: life does not lead to joy and happiness, only pain and sorrow. Jimmy's mother Esther is Red's opposite. Case in point: neighbor Petie Farrington would periodically pop his sandy haired head above the windowsill and ask: "Mrs. Rogers can I please have a peanut butter and jelly sandwich?" Even though she struggled to keep her own eight children fed, she would always say: "Sure you can Petie, come around to the kitchen". This dramatic contrast between Esther and Red serves as a metaphor for the choice confronting Jimmy Rogers. He's trapped between his Mother's hoped filled view of life and his Father's hopeless outlook. Jimmy has been living on the fence trying to appear aligned with both. Life threatening events in “Can't Stop It” force him to choose one path. What will it be: life or death? All twelve songs on "Can't Stop It!" - Vol I were recorded at MEGA Praise Studios (Donnie Haulk - chief engineer). Mixed at The Play Room (Eddie Z - chief mix engineer). Mastered at Northern Digital Recording, Inc (Dr. Toby Mountain). Additional editing at Thunder Bros Studios. Produced by Brotherjohnny a/k/a Prof Remember.
