Acoustic folk artist Joel Teeple brings music to the ears of many, branching out from his origin in northwest Ohio. In the short time since the CD release tour ended in August, Teeple has been constantly writing new songs. With talk of recording and touring in the air for this coming Spring 2010, there is much to look forward to. In 2009 Teeple experienced the first of many things. Recording a full-length album in the early months with the newly emerging Pinnacle Productions he stepped foot into a recording studio for the first time. On May 1st he released his debut album “The Gun” and followed it up with an album release tour spanning four states and over forty venues, performing in some larger arenas as the historic Huber Opera House in Hicksville, OH, and the Defiance College Art Center. Merging struggles and brokenness with warm melodies comes naturally for Teeple. The result is an honest and humble attempt to address personal battles that fans can relate to. The songs written since the debut album have more depth, and display his ability to write lyrics that speak to the soul. A subtle urgency can be found in “Shovels and Spades” giving it the intensity and enhanced by the marching rhythm that make it a model for remarkable acoustic folk music to follow.
