Chris Bullock is a singer/songwriter/producer and frontman for New Stellar Star. Chris has been writing and performing since he was a child. Growing up in Winnipeg, Canada allowed Chris time to write and perfect his craft due to the blistering cold Winnipeg winters. His drive and enthusiasm for his craft is apparent with his creative songwriting and irresistible stage presence. His passion for music is contagious and it shows with his latest pop/rock endeavor New Stellar Star. New Stellar Star's regular line up of sessional musicians live on and record are Drummer Michael Shawcross and Guitarist Grant Miller. Chris combines powerful lyrics, strong melodies and deeply emotional vocal performances that will draw you into a world of singable pop/rock anthems.
In 2002 Chris packed up his suitcase and guitar and moved to Vancouver, B.C. to pursue music and a reoccurring acting bug which set him spiralling off into a world of art, acting and his love for making music. Chris dedicated his time to music and put the acting bug on hold while he focused strongly on his true passion, making music. While in Vancouver he performed at several popular musical venues in and around Vancouver and recorded an unreleased solo acoustic record at a local studio.
With an abundance of material Chris finally decided to record a fully produced band record. As luck would have it Chris would be invited to the Goo Goo Doll's studio in 2007 where he would record his first EP over an intense seven day period. Out of the songs demoed Chris decided to release single by single beginning with his first singles Fade Out and All The While. He enlisted the help of local Buffalo guitarist Dave Julian and Engineer/Mixer Mike Brylinski to help him get the sound he was looking for on the record. Instead of releasing a solo album at that time Chris decided to release the songs under project name "New Stellar Star". As part of the stellar line up of seasoned musicians Chris has worked with live and on record are, drummer Michael Shawcross, drummer Aaron Edgar, drummer Jesse Gill, Keyboardists, Korel Tunador, Keyboardist Peter Vander Hout, bassist Martin Thiessen, guitarists Grant Miller, Dave Julian and Fernando Ferreira.
In 2009 New Stellar Star worked with award winning producer Dale Penner whose previous credits include a platinum record for Nickelback. The single was titled "Lay Down On Me" and was produced by Dale Penner and Chris Bullock. Shortly after that on a trip to Seattle and Vancouver Chris met Bob Brooks owner of the legendary Little Mountain Sound Studios, who took interest in what New Stellar Star was doing and offered to work with Chris by mastering some of his songs believing in his talent as an artist.
Chris has been busy playing shows as well as operating all the business ends of his music as well as exploring the exciting world of film and television licensing. All the while recording an albums worth of new material. He signed with an International publisher that is currently pitching Chris' songs for placements in film,television and commercials. Currently the New Stellar Star line up is playing shows and can be heard on several satellite radio programs worldwide. Recently Chris was invited to a private Los Angeles studio to record 4 new songs which will be released single by single within the coming months. Now preparing for the release of the next single"Long gone" this up tempo rocker is full of insatiable pop melodics littered with stylish guitars and driven home by a highly contagious hooky chorus guaranteed to have you singing along.
